Cindy and Shanna are back on the blog for their big day! Just a short couple weeks after their engagement session, we celebrated their union in a beautiful wedding at Frederik Meijer Gardens. The day was unseasonably hot for early June. Cindy and Shanna originally chose this date because it’s typically a pleasant time of year for Michigan. As they were planning a greenhouse wedding and reception, super warm summer temperatures wouldn’t be ideal for this scenario. As Michigan goes on to prove time and time again, we cannot predict her weather and just had to roll with the punches and warm temperatures. It was still a beautiful day, despite a brief power outage at the hotel and some melted butter, it was full of sunshine and love.

Their small, garden themed wedding was perfect for the greenhouse setting. The room was beautifully decorated with flowers and birds, while also incorporating their love of books. We enjoyed some time before the ceremony exploring the gardens and greenhouse for stunning photo locations. Fredrick Meijer Gardens definitely doesn’t disappoint in being picturesque, we found so many spots, if only we had more time and the temperatures were a little cooler, but I have so many photos to deliver to this couple! I’m thrilled with all we accomplished in the time we had and how much they persevered through the conditions.
