I met with Cindy and Shanna on a gorgeous spring evening in May. The weather was absolutely perfect for an engagement session and I was thrilled it would work out that way! Cindy and I had been going back and forth for months trying to figure out a date. Between the brutal winter weather, sickness and the continuous melting of the snow, we decided it would be best to wait until spring and keep our fingers crossed the weather would cooperate. We were in a little bit of a time crunch since their wedding is in just a couple short weeks and I knew I wanted to get these photos back to them before the big day! Thankfully, Mother Nature had my back and it worked out perfectly.
We spent the evening at Pickerel Lake and made a last minute decision to also check out Townsend Park just down the road. Boy, am I glad we did! Both locations gave us such amazing variety in their images, we were able to enjoy the stunning scenery. The lake was sparkling in the sun and the leaves were starting to fill in on the trees surrounding it. At Townsend Park, the tall pine forest was stunning as usual. I love how the sun filters through the trunks of the trees. We were able to find a beautiful, purple flowering tree to take advantage of! I’m sucker for pretty flowers so it was perfect. I had a ton of time to get to know Cindy and Shanna. They were absolute naturals in front of the camera! So much love and affection for each other – it really made my job so easy! We shared our love for books and the outdoors. I’m so looking forward to spending the day with them in a couple weeks at Fredrick Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids.
