If you’re from Michigan or pretty much anywhere in the mid-west, you know this winter has been brutally cold. West Michigan has been hit particularly hard with a lot of ice and snow in a short amount of time. Sorry kids, you’re not getting out of school until July! I was lucky enough to escape the snow for a blissful two weeks this February and if I didn’t have four-legged babies waiting for me in Michigan, I may not have returned until it was sunny and 75.
Christina and Luke’s engagement session was my first session post-vacation mode and let me start by saying, I’m SO happy we decided on the date we chose! Yes, it was cold and windy, but the sunshine made it so worth every second a bitterness. Winters in this snow globe can be so long, especially as a photographer. Gorgeous winter evenings are few and far between, but so worth every second. These two were such troopers. As I’m cooking under my thousands of layers, they’re bearing the cold without coats or complaints!
We did the majority of the session at Christina’s family farm. We found so many awesome locations – I think I could have kept going for hours if they would have let me! HA! I seriously cannot wait to hang out with them at their October wedding. I couldn’t imagine a better couple to have booked for their super popular date!!! Thanks you two for putting up with this crazy photographer dragging you around in that crazy cold weather to find the perfect light. It was so worth it!
